America’s Most Expensive Homes
According to a recent article in Forbes Magazine, things may be looking up for luxury real estate in the U.S. This year the most expensive homes on the market are commanding higher prices, on average, than last year. The bold pricing suggests seller confidence in the upper stratosphere of real estate. The top 10 priced homes have a price range from $65 million and $150 million (nearly $10 million higher than last years average). The coasts dominate the list, with four homes in California and three in New York City.
Coincidently, Sotheby’s International Real Estate Agents have four of the ten highest priced homes in America.
Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service, Inc (ARMLS) concurs that things are looking up for luxury real estate in Maricopa County. Statistics for 2010 through April 30th show a 37.7% increase in homes sold in the $1 million – $3 million plus range. The $400,000 – $999,999 range also had double digit increases in sales. It appears that prospects are taking advantage of attractive high end properties- getting a bang for their buck.
